Mr. Burrell received his J.D. from New York Law School in 2005 and his B.S. in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University's Smeal College of Business in 1995. He is admitted to the Bar of the State of New York and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Prior to law school, Mr. Burrell was an equities market maker and institutional salesman for several Wall Street firms, and he has over a decade of capital markets experience.

Recently, Mr. Burrell was a member of the litigation team that represented shareholder plaintiffs in In re Vivendi Universal, S.A. Sec. Litig., 02 Civ. 5571 (RJH)(HNP)(S.D.N.Y.) trial, which resulted in the largest verdict ever obtained in favor of plaintiffs in a securities class action. In 2009, Mr. Burrell obtained a favorable decision in New York State court on behalf of a hedge fund plaintiff against its prime broker.

Mr. Burrell is also a member of the New York City Bar's African Affairs - Business in Africa committee, whose primary goal is increasing private equity investment throughout the African continent.
