JILL S. ABRAMS TO SPEAK AT THE ASSOCIATION OF THE BAR OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK
Partner, Jill S. Abrams will be a participant in a panel discussion entitled, "Securities Class Actions: Applying the New Class Certification Standards after Miles v. Merrill Lynch (IPO Securities Litigation)". This event is sponsored by the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and will take place on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 6:30pm.
The panel discussion will focus mainly on recent Second Circuit decisions which have construed the law on class certification and provided guidance under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 23. Some argue that the decisions in cases such as In re IPO Securities Litigation, Teamsters Local v. Bombardier, Inc, and In re Salomon Analyst Metromedia Litigation have changed the game in securities class action litigation. The panelists will discuss the impact of those decisions and what the future holds for this important area of law.
